Stoneground Gouache is a water-based media that dries to an opaque, matte finish. You can apply colours in layers, allowing you to refine and define your painting as you work. Because it is water-based, you can dilute gouache with water and used it wet-on-wet in the same manner as watercolour. Conversely, the chalk content in gouache means that it won’t bloom or flow like watercolour paint. You can lighten gouache by adding white, and layer it from dark to light due to its opaque nature.
