Description:
Enter into the beauty of the winter season by creating colourful soft snowy scenes. In this workshop, you’ll learn various colour combinations for trees, how to paint coniferous and deciduous trees with different brushes, and how to add gouache to your paintings. Your finished pieces will make great prints for cards for friends and family this Christmas. Bring a friend and enjoy a cozy December afternoon together!

Required supplies for the workshop:

• Watercolour Brushes (Princeton synthetic work well):
1” flat brush, ½” flat brush, #2 script liner—at least 1” long, #5 round brush, #10 round brush and ½” flat brush
• Paper:
Transparent watercolour classes: Cold or hot press 140lb. Arches Bright White or Fabriano Artistico Extra White, 4 pieces of 9x11, 4 pieces of 6x8
• Paints (Daniel Smith, Winsor Newton):
Gouache: Permanent White Winsor Newton or Titanium White
Transparent watercolour: Prussian Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Viridian, Hookers Green, Opera Rose, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Titanium or Permanent White Gouache.
• Miscellaneous:
Synthetic Sponge (to wipe brush on) or paper towels
Water containers: large mouth container or separate small ones
Small water spray bottle
Plastic painting surface (coroplast) or any plastic flat surface, plexiglass etc. 16x20 to tape paper onto
½” or 1” Masking tape (vanilla colour)
Craft knife
Plastic triangle palette knife
