Antica Green Earth pigment is mined from basaltic tufa near the ancient Italian city of Prun, near Verona. Green Earth pigments (also known as Terre Verte) were utilized by Medieval and Renaissance artists to neutralize the effects of the pink and red pigments used in human flesh colours. Antica Green Earth is derived from the mineral glauconite.
