1 Day – Water in Motion in Watercolour With Tom Chan - May 4, 2026

In this hands-on class, you will learn to paint the trees (coniferous, deciduous, birch, tropical) and flowers in watercolour. This workshop will focus on design considerations (rule of thirds, depth of field), different brushstrokes, fundamental techniques (wet-on-wet, dry brush, realism, impressionism), and special effects in watercolour painting.

The instructor will provide special effect tools and coroplast boards.

• A Pan of semi-moist Yarka watercolour

• A roll of masking tape – 1/4 in

• A 5H pencil and a soft eraser

• A ruler

• A natural sponge

• Water containers

• A roll of bathroom tissue

• A small container of table salt

• Titanium white gouache

• A small bottle of masking fluid – optional

• A sheet of Arches watercolour paper
